Born in Jerez de La Frontera, Spain, Juan Guillermo Nova studied Art History and technical and artistic drawing at the former Santo Domingo School of Art; Graduated from Escuela Trazos, in digital postproduction and 3D projection. He began his career in theatre at the Teatro Real in Madrid. He worked in the production of Faust at the Teatro Regio di Parma; Tosca, Barbiere di Siviglia and Traviata at Arena di Verona; La Bohème at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires; In 2013 he became technical director of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo, winner of the best set design in Brazil in 2013 and 2015 with Don Giovanni and Manon Lescaut respectively.
He has made numerous sets for ballet, including Giselle Trieste, Bayadere ballet Teatro Opera Rome, Le coirsare e Don Quixote SNG Maribor. Swan lake at Latvian opera and ballet.
In 2015 he is the set designer and video creator of the Forza del Destino at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. Scenography and video design Elisir d’amore at National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing 2015
In 2016 Scenography and video creation of La Campana sommersa in Cagliari and 2017 at the New City Opera in New York. La fille du regiment at National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing 2018, Rigoletto scene and video creation in 2018 in Cagliari and at the Hong Kong Cultural Center in 2019. Scenography and video Don Pasquale 2021 Teatro Regio di Parma. In may 2021 Set and video design El Rey que Rabio Teatro de la Zarzuela Madrid and Oviedo Festival April 2022.
On march 2022 make Stage direction, scenography and video design Opera Carmen at sng Maribor theatre
